Wat is het Meldpunt Goed Verhuurderschap?

The Good Landlord Act came into effect on July 1, 2023!

This law gives municipalities more options to protect tenants from abuses when renting residential or residential properties. By introducing a standard for good landlord practices and allowing municipalities to require a rental permit, municipalities can actively promote good landlord practices.

A national basic standard for good landlord practices will be established in the form of general rules. These standards will address the behavior expected of good landlords and letting agents in relation to home seekers and tenants.

The municipality of Eindhoven is immediately setting up a low-threshold, free reporting point so that tenants can submit their reports.

Together against discrimination, intimidation and high security deposits.
Together for correct rental agreements, clear rental agreements and honest annual statements.

What we do

Advice

All tenants, home seekers, local residents, and others can contact the Reporting Center with reports and complaints about undesirable behavior by landlords or letting agents. The Reporting Center thus forms the basis for municipal enforcement.

Support

After submitting a report regarding the actions of a landlord and/or rental agent, the Reporting Center will assist in providing the correct supporting documents so that the report is immediately and correctly received by the Municipality of Eindhoven.

Referral

If the complaint does not lead to a report, the Reporting Point can, if necessary, refer the complaint to other competent authorities, such as Huurteam Eindhoven, RADAR, the complaints committee of the housing associations, the Legal Desk or the Legal Aid Clinic.

Report

Reporting is free and anonymous. However, it may be necessary to provide certain information before the Municipality of Eindhoven can take enforcement action. You can, of course, request advice anonymously, and the Reporting Center is happy to discuss the options with you.
